The Sounds of Summer

Hello fellow bloggers and/or blog readers. I decided to give this thing a shot and see how I liked it. I figured it would be a good way to get my thoughts (good or bad) out of my head and onto something a bit more tangible.
I'm beginning my first blog talking about my new sounds of summer. I have recently become enthralled with the broadway world and considering I'm moving there in a year, I figured I needed to be in the know with performers. Over Spring Break 2011, my mom and I went to NYC and saw two shows; Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia. While JB was awesome, MM was undoubtedly the show stopper. I fell in love with the performer who played Donna (Lisa Brescia). For days I couldn't get her out of my head. When I got back home in SC, I googled her and soon began my stalker-ish (yes, but not in the creepy sense) ways. I found videos on YouTube, Wikipedia-ed her, found her personal website, and then just for kicks, searched for her on Itunes. Low and behold, found a couple of songs she sang for Ordinary Days and Sort of Love Songs. THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN HAS THE GOODS!!!! She can sing the hell out of a song and has the ability to put you in a trance. It even got to the point, where my students (special needs) students were starting to sing some of the songs.
Fast forward a couple of months. Here I am, still listening to the same YouTube videos of Lisa and it's been what...almost three months....am I a little obsessed? Maybe. Could you call me crazy? Yeah, probably, but if you haven't heard her voice..then you have no clue. Did I mention that I now have added Tracie Thoms and Beth Leavel to my sounds of summer list? Lastly, Scott Alan (composer) is a musical genius. I have most of his songs on my Ipod and listen to them constantly. Currently, "Love, Love, Love" is my theme song.
I'm not sure about this whole blog thing, but it's nice to be telling things to people other than my parents and friends. It makes me feel like people listen when I'm talking (typing in this case) even if no one is reading my blog. Anyways, it's way past bedtime but I've officially decided that I am a Lisa Brescia fan for life and will follow her career until I can't see or hear anymore.

Goodnight blogging world!!
